Luke Zettlemoyer is a Senior Research Manager at AI2, and also an Associate Professor in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington. His research focuses on empirical computational semantics, and involves designing new machine learning algorithms that can be used to recover aspects of the meaning of natural language text. Honors include multiple best paper awards, selection to the DARPA CSSG, an NSF CAREER award, a PECASE award, and an Allen Distinguished Investigator Award. Luke received his PhD from MIT and was a postdoc at the University of Edinburgh. When not working, he enjoys socializing with friends and neighbors, spending time with his family, and sleeping as much as possible.
