News
April 2025 - OLMoTrace
OLMoTrace, a new feature in Ai2 Playground, connects phrases or whole sentences in the language model’s output back to verbatim matches in its training data. We developed OLMoTrace to enable researchers, developers, and the general public to inspect where and how language models may have learned to generate certain word sequences. This one-of-a-kind feature is made possible by our commitment to making large pretraining and post-training datasets open.
April 2025 - Partnering with the Cancer AI Alliance
We’re partnering with the Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA), a pioneering consortium uniting leading cancer research institutions and technology companies to harness AI in the fight against cancer. Ai2 and Google Cloud are each investing $10 million in the initiative and providing access to technology solutions that will help speed scientific discovery. Google Cloud will power planet-scale AI infrastructure and data analytics tools, while Ai2 will provide critical expertise in training large-scale models focusing on cancer research.

March 2025 - OLMo 2 32B
OLMo 2 32B is the most capable and largest model in the OLMo 2 family, scaling up the OLMo 2 training recipe used for our 7B and 13B models released in November. It is trained up to 6T tokens and post-trained using Tulu 3.1. OLMo 2 32B is the first fully-open model (all data, code, weights, and details are freely available) to outperform GPT3.5-Turbo and GPT-4o mini on a suite of popular, multi-skill academic benchmarks.
March 2025 - Ai2 Paper Finder
We believe that AI-based literature search should follow the research and thought process that a human researcher would use when looking for relevant papers in their field. Ai2 Paper Finder is built on this philosophy, and it excels at locating papers that are hard to find using existing search tools.
February 2025 - OLMoE iOS app
We're committed to building the best truly open language models, and now we're taking a significant step by releasing open source iOS apps that allow anyone to test our models on their devices privately and securely.
