Recent releases

March 2025 - OLMo 2 32B

OLMo 2 32B is the most capable and largest model in the OLMo 2 family, scaling up the OLMo 2 training recipe used for our 7B and 13B models released in November. It is trained up to 6T tokens and post-trained using Tulu 3.1. OLMo 2 32B is the first fully-open model (all data, code, weights, and details are freely available) to outperform GPT3.5-Turbo and GPT-4o mini on a suite of popular, multi-skill academic benchmarks.

March 2025 - Ai2 Paper Finder

We believe that AI-based literature search should follow the research and thought process that a human researcher would use when looking for relevant papers in their field. Ai2 Paper Finder is built on this philosophy, and it excels at locating papers that are hard to find using existing search tools.

February 2025 - OLMoE iOS app

We're committed to building the best truly open language models, and now we're taking a significant step by releasing open source iOS apps that allow anyone to test our models on their devices privately and securely.

April 2025 - Google Cloud Next 2025

At this year's Next conference, our CEO Ali Farhadi will join CEO of Google Public Sector Karen Dahut to explore an exciting collaboration between Ai2 and Google Cloud, bringing the power of open-source AI to the research community.

March 2025 - NVIDIA GTC

NVIDIA GTC is a global AI conference that brings together developers, engineers, researchers, inventors, and IT professionals. Our CEO Ali Farhadi sat down for an exclusive fireside chat with NVIDIA's Vartika Singh, where they explored the next frontier of artificial intelligence — from scaling models efficiently to the transformative power of open-source AI.

October 2024 - United Nations Biodiversity Conference of the Parties (COP16)

The United Nations Biodiversity Conference of the Parties (COP16) is one of the largest and most important global gatherings focused on addressing the urgent crisis of biodiversity loss. We attended to share our free and open-source technologies, like Skylight and EarthRanger.

October 2024 - TechCrunch Disrupt 2024

TechCrunch Disrupt was a 3-day conference focused on breaking technology news and developments with big-name thought leaders who are making waves in the industry. Our CEO Ali Farhadi joined a panel discussion on October 30th titled "The Advantages of 'Open' AI".

October 2024 - IA Summit 2024

The 2024 IA Summit, presented by Madrona, featured founders at the cutting edge and established companies building intelligent and generative applications for the future. Our CEO Ali Farhadi joined a panel on October 2 to discuss "Navigating the Model Landscape." The summit took place at the Four Seasons in Seattle, Washington.

August 2024 - Defcon 2024 w/DSRI

DEF CON, the annual hacker convention and cybersecurity conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada, was the stage for a live red teaming of our OLMo model by the Digital Safety Research Institute (DSRI). Read about participant experiences here and here.

June 2024 - Cerebral Valley Summit

At the Cerebral ValleySummit, an “exclusive meeting of the top founders and investors in AI,” Ali joined openness advocates Jonathan Frankle of Databricks and Laurens van der Maaten of Meta for a panel discussion hosted by Madrona Ventures’ Jon Turow.

June 2024 - Axios AI Summit

Axios' AI+ Summit in Washington brought together technologists pushing the boundaries of AI and policymakers assessing how to regulate it. Ali spoke to Axios' Ina Fried about the value of openness in AI, and building trust with the community.

May 2024 - OSTP-NSF-PCAST Event (NAIRR)

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) convened an event to recognize he first round of the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot awards, and the release of the PCAST report, “Supercharging Research: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence to Meet Global Challenges.” Ai2 leaders attended to support and speak to our participation in the national resource package (featuring OLMo and Dolma).
