Top story - Ai2 defines open
At Ai2, we're committed to making AI accessible to all. That includes access to open data, open models, and open code — but also goes beyond, defining our guiding principles of building an open, collaborative community.
COP16: AI for the planet
At this year's United Nations Biodiversity Conference (COP 16), we had two primary objectives: fostering and enhancing partnerships with global conservation stakeholders and inspiring recognition of the transformative potential of AI and conservation technologies in safeguarding biodiversity. Members from our EarthRanger, Skylight, and newly announced Earth System teams performed demonstrations, spent time with partners, and focused on ways we can continue to collaborate on solving the world's biggest problems.
The Semantic Reader Project
Keeping up with the most up-to-date, relevant research is one of the biggest challenges facing modern scholars. To help tackle this challenge, we sought to answer the question, can we create intelligent, interactive, and accessible reading interfaces for research papers, even atop existing PDFs? The exploration of this question has led to the Semantic Reader Project, featured in Communications of the ACM.
SimpleToM: A dataset to test theory of mind
Can LLMs understand what's on our minds and use it to predict human behavior, or to judge whether an observed behavior is rational? Our new dataset, SimpleToM, contains concise, diverse stories, each with three questions that test different degrees of ToM reasoning, asking models to predict mental state, behavior, and judgment.
